Dept of ECM – Bodh Gaya photography excursion

The Department of English Communication and Media embarked on a Bodh Gaya photography excursion on February 7, 2026, as an integral part of the course curriculum. Led by Dr. Tauseef Hassan, Head of the Department, along with Assistant Professor Dr. Runa and Assistant Professor Frank Krishner, the excursion aimed to enhance students’ artistic vision and technical photography skills through hands-on learning.

The first destination was the Mahabodhi Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a major Buddhist pilgrimage centre, where students were assigned on-site photography tasks and encouraged to experiment with composition, lighting, and visual storytelling. The second stop was the Daibutsu (Great Buddha Statue), one of the tallest Buddha statues in India. Students practised multiple photography techniques using both cameras and mobile phones, making the excursion academically enriching and productive.
