The Department of Botany, Patna Women’s College, in collaboration with the Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA), Patna Chapter, successfully organized a two-day International Conference titled “Bridging Disciplines for Resilience and Sustainability: A Pathway to Viksit Bharat” on December 15–16, 2025 in blended mode. The conference brought together academicians, researchers, scientists, and students from diverse disciplines to deliberate on contemporary challenges and sustainable solutions aligned with the national vision of a developed India.
The inaugural ceremony commenced on an auspicious note with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by the welcome address by Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., Principal, Patna Women’s College and opening address by Dr. Pinky Prasad, Convenor of the Conference and Head, Department of Botany. Prof. N. K. Agrawal, Director, Higher Education, Government of Bihar, was Chief Guest of Inaugural function. The inaugural session was efficiently moderated by Dr. Hena Naz, Treasurer of the Conference, and concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Piyush Kumar Rai, Organizing Secretary.
The academic proceedings featured deliberations by Dr. Vivek Priy Dave from Belgium, Prof. Madhusudan Choudhary from USA, Dr Sunil Kumar from USA, Dr Abhimanyu Thakur from USA, Dr Kumud Bala from Amity University, Noida, Dr Neeraj Shukla and Dr Moitri Sen from NIT, Patna. Dr Shobha Srivastava, Dean, Science, Patna Women’s College and Dr Birendra Prasad, Professor, Patna University chaired the offline and online plenary sessions.
Academicians and research scholars from various institutions presented their research across three parallel technical sessions. Prof. Indra Nath Mishra, Prof. Shahla Yasmin, Prof. Suniti Singh and Prof. Vivek chaired the technical sessions. The sessions were smoothly conducted and moderated by the organizing team, concluding the first day on a note of academic enrichment and collaborative commitment.
Prof. (Dr.) Namita Kumari, Dean, Faculty of Science, Patna University, graced the Valedictory function as Chief Guest on the 2nd day of Conference. Nearly 250 participants from multifaceted disciplines from across India participated. The session also featured the announcement of poster competition results, with winners receiving cash prizes and certificates.
Dr. Pinky Prasad, Convenor, presented the key takeaways of the conference, summarizing the outcomes and insights of the two-day deliberations. The event was smoothly moderated by Dr. Anjana Verma, Joint Organizing Secretory and the vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Urvashi Sinha, Co-Convenor of the conference, marking the successful culmination of the conference.
