Successful Health Talk and Hands-on-Training on Emergency Situation and Basic Life Support

Department of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics and Health Centre, Department of Home Science , Patna Women’s College, jointly organised a successful Health Talk and Hands-on-Training on Emergency Situation and Basic Life Support on 16th January 2026.
The programme started with the deliberation by Dr. Chandan Kishore, HOD, Emergency, PARAS HMRI Hospital, Patna. He explained the early recognition and warning signs of an emergency condition. He described the difference between cardiac arrest and heart attack, causes and treatment. The concept of the “golden hour” was highlighted, stressing that prompt action can significantly improve survival outcomes. There was also an interactive session on the practical aspects of CPR by Mr. Avinash Kumar Singh, certified AHA Instructor (BLS & ALS), PARAS HMRI Hospital, Patna followed by demo sessions on CPR.
Approximately 125 students from Department of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics, Home Science, Botany and Zoology attended the training. The training proved to be an enriching experience, offering effective guidelines that were immensely beneficial for the students.
