Workshop on “Makeup Style and Fashion Grooming”

The Department of Fashion Designing, Patna Women’s College successfully organised a comprehensive workshop titled “Makeup Style and Fashion Grooming” under the initiative of “Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan” (PM-USHA scheme) on 25th Feb, 2026. The workshop was conducted into two sessions. The first session was focused on contemporary style and the second was on traditional look. This workshop aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional industry standards for Fashion Designing students.
The first segment of the workshop was led by a professional makeup artist and educator Ms. Bhawna Verma. She provided the knowledge about the importance of makeup style, fashion grooming, personality and professionalism. Students learnt how to balance modern makeup trends with elegance to suit today’s lifestyle. This segment was focused on the power of grooming as a tool for confidence. The event concluded with interactive push question answer sessions. Students explored modern trends, mastering both subtle and bold looks, while learning the foundations of holistic skincare and hair maintenance.
The second session was demonstrated by an expert makeup artist and hair stylist Mr. Rocky. He provided hands-on insights into luxury hair transformations, bridal aesthetics, and the operational expectations of world-class salon chains. The workshop was focused on the fusion of heritage and high-end luxury fashion and makeup style.
The programme was started with a welcome speech of Dr Shemushi, HOD, Department of Fashion Designing. Dr Geetanjali Chaudhary Coordinator of the department also explained the techniques of makeup and emphasised the vital role of self-presentation in the modern era. All faculty members Ms Asha Pandey, Priyanka Singh, Vandana Sinha and Dr Purnima Roy were present and helped to coordinate the programme.
Apart from Patna women’s College, many students from government women’s College, Gulzar Bagh, JD women’s College, Bailey Road, College
of Arts and Crafts,Museum Road, Patna participated in this program. Srijan club members also actively participated in this workshop.Total 155 students from different colleges and institutes benefited in this workshop.
