World Philosophy Day 2025

On the occasion of World Philosophy Day, The Department of Philosophy, Patna Women’s College, Patna University organized a 2-Day Workshop held under the aegis of ICPR On the theme : “Contemporary Challengess and Innovations in Philosophical Research Methodology” under the guidance of Dr. Sister M.Rashmi AC, Principal, Patna Women’s college.
The inaugural days’s session began with the welcome address by Dr. Keerti Choudhary, Head, Dept of Philosophy, PWC.
Prof. Dr. Ameeta Jaiswal Head, PG Dept of Philosophy, Patna University delivered an insightful speech on the Indian Knowledge System, where she highlighted the rich philosophical traditions of India and emphasized their relevance in contemporary academic and social life. She explained how ancient Indian wisdom promotes holistic understanding, ethical values, and critical thinking among learners.
Prof. Dr. Shyamal Kishore, Principal Rameshwar Mahavidhyalaya BRABU emphasized the importance of clarity, and rational argumentation in contemporary research. He highlighted how logical analysis helps researchers develop critical thinking and strengthen the methodological framework of academic studies through Indian Knowledge system.
Prof. Dr. Rajesh Kumar Singh, Dean, Humanities, highlighted the key aspects of Indian Knowledge system highlighting the philosophical foundations of the Vedas and the Upanishads. The speaker explained how these ancient texts focus on knowledge, self-realization, and ethical living, which remain relevant in contemporary times.
Research Proposal Making Competition was succesfully conducted by Ms. Richa Priya, Assistant Prof, Patna Women’s college, the competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from UG, PG students and Research scholars, who presented innovative and well-structured research proposals.
In the competition first prize was awarded to Arundhati Sundaram & Vaidehi Anand (Patna Women’s College)
Second Prize Yashashvi & Beauty Kumari (PG Department)
Third Prize- Aniket Kumar & Alok Kumar (Patna College)
The competition was evaluated by a panel of two judges, Dr. Vijeta Singh, Assistant Prof, PG Dept of Philosophy, PU and Dr. Nikhila Narayan, Assistant Professor, Department of English.
The evaluation was based on originality, clarity and Clarification of objectives, and methodological soundness of the research proposals.
The programme was smoothly anchored by Dr. Kamalendra Kumar, Assistant Prof, Department of Philosophy,Patna Women’s College. Other faculty members Ms. Richa Priya & Ms.Sonam Kumari actively participated in the workshop.
At the conclusion of the program, the Vote of Thanks was gracefully delivered by Sonam, expressing sincere gratitude to all dignitarie.
