International Microorganisms Day 2025

The Department of Microbiology, Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), Patna University, celebrated the International Microorganisms Day on 18th September 2025 by organizing an engaging Germ Quiz Competition. The event was designed to highlight the fascinating world of microorganisms and their pivotal role in health, environment, and biotechnology, while also promoting scientific curiosity among students of the third Semester. The quiz tested participants’ knowledge on diverse topics such as microbial diversity, beneficial and harmful microorganisms, microbial diseases, antibiotics, vaccines, industrial applications of microbes, and their role in sustainable development. Teams competed enthusiastically, demonstrating both quick thinking and a strong grasp of microbiological concepts.After several competitive rounds, the winners of the event were announced at the conclusion of event, the 1st position was secured by Group A with its members Kumari Anshu Yadav, Nikita Pandey and Vibha, the 2nd position was secured by Group B with its members Arti Kumari, Kirti Kashyap and Suchika Rathaur and the 3rd position was given to Group E with its members Shruti Kumari, Isha Rani and Riddhi Raj.The Germ Quiz proved to be an exciting platform for fostering scientific awareness, teamwork, and intellectual engagement among budding microbiologists.
