An awareness session was organised by Department of Economics in collaboration with the Department of Post to educate students and faculty about services offered by the Indian Post. The session explained the process of opening a Post Office account and the necessary documents required. Participants were introduced to various savings and investment schemes, their benefits, and the interest rates offered. Examples such as the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana were discussed to highlight long-term saving options. The speakers also outlined services like savings accounts and other deposit schemes. The session emphasised cultivating saving habits and understanding returns to ensure better financial planning and long-term financial security for individuals and families.
