The Department of Geography, Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), Patna, in collaboration with St. Philomena’s College (Autonomous), Mysuru, successfully inaugurated the National Conference on “Community Based Approach Towards Sustainable Environment and Society: Viksit Bharat @2047” on 24th March 2026 in blended mode, with the first day conducted in offline mode.
The inaugural session was honoured by the presence of Chief Guest Dr. Anubha Prasad, General Manager, SIDBI, Patna. The day featured an enriching Plenary Session with distinguished speakers Prof. N.C. Jana, Prof. Mahalaya Chatterjee, and Dr. Niladri Sekhar Dhar, who shared valuable insights on disaster risk reduction, environmental sustainability, and sustainable agricultural practices. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Sister Jincy A.C., Superior, Avila Convent, and Dr. Sister Celine Crasta A.C., Head, Department of History.
The academic deliberations continued with three parallel technical sessions, where scholars and researchers presented papers on diverse themes related to sustainability, governance, technology, and community participation, making the first day highly engaging and intellectually stimulating.
