On the occasion of Bihar Diwas, The Department of History, Patna Women’s College ( Autonomous), Patna University, organised a speech competition for the students of Semester VI on Saturday, 28th March 2026. The theme of the
competition was “Women Entrepreneurs in Bihar,” aiming to highlight the growing role and contributions of women in the entrepreneurial landscape of the state. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, with a total of five
participants taking part in the competition. The participants, presented their views with great confidence, creativity, and insight. Each participant was allotted 8 minutes to express their ideas on the given topic. The speeches covered various aspects such as the challenges faced by women entrepreneurs, government initiatives supporting them, success stories from Bihar, and the importance of empowering women economically. The participants demonstrated strong research skills and presented their arguments effectively, making the competition both informative and inspiring. The event was judged by Mrs. Swati Sinha, Assistant Professor, Department of History, and Mr. Satyam Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of History, who
evaluated the participants on the basis of content, clarity, confidence, and presentation skills. After evaluation, Adya Singh was awarded the first position, Mansi Kumari secured the second position, and Supriya Kumari was awarded the third position.
The event concluded on a positive note, encouraging students to actively engage in discussions on social and economic issues. The competition not only enhanced public speaking skills but also spread awareness about the vital role of women
entrepreneurs in the development of Bihar.
