On National Voters’ Day, 2025, a group of 65 final year students from BA IIIrd year (Political Science) under the guidance of Prachi Raj, Assistant Professor, Political Science Department, visited the Secretariat, Patna. The event, which commemorates the 15th yearly celebration of National Voters’ Day since its inception in 2011, marked an important occasion in recognizing the contributions of the Election Commission of India, established in 1950. The theme of the day “Vote jaisa kuchh nahi, Vote Zaroor Karenge Hum” (Nothing like a Vote, we will definitely vote), aimed to raise awareness about the importance of voting and inspire the youth to become active participants in the democratic process and inspire others.
The event commenced with a thought-provoking address by Shri H. R. Srinivas, IAS, the Chief Electoral Officer of Bihar followed by an encouraging address by Chief Guest Shri Amrit Lal Meena, IAS who emphasized the transformational change in electoral process and the importance of individual contributions to the success of democracy. The session ended with an oath ceremony and interactive session by students.
