The Department of Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), organized a One-Day Hands-On Workshop on “Emerging Trends on Semiconductor Technology” on 06 January 2026. The workshop aimed to provide students with foundational knowledge and practical insights into the rapidly evolving semiconductor industry.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Mrs. Poonam Abraham Lakra, Head, Department of Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. She warmly welcomed the resource person, Dr. Bibhuti Vikramaditya, Director, Smartway Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Incubator, IIT Patna, and highlighted the relevance of semiconductor technology in the present technological landscape.
The technical session was conducted by Dr. Bibhuti Vikramaditya, who briefed the participants on the fundamental concepts of semiconductors. He elaborated on their historical evolution, industrial importance, and the growing demand for skilled professionals in the semiconductor sector. The speaker emphasized the crucial role of the semiconductor industry in strengthening the Make in India initiative by promoting self-reliance and indigenous manufacturing. He encouraged students to explore career and job opportunities in this emerging field.
The workshop also included an interactive session focusing on practical aspects of semiconductor technology, during which students actively engaged with the resource person and clarified their queries. A feedback session followed, where participants shared their learning experiences and expressed appreciation for the informative and hands-on nature of the workshop.
Approximately 81 students participated in the workshop. The event proved to be an enriching and informative experience, offering valuable guidelines and insights that were immensely beneficial for the students and enhanced their understanding of emerging trends in semiconductor technology.
