Exploring Oncology Trends: Statistical Research at BSR 2026

During the Basic Scientific Research (BSR) presentations held on January 8, 2026, at Patna Women’s College, students from the Statistics Department showcased their analytical expertise with a specialized study titled  “Exploring Cancer Trends in India: A Statistical Approach to Gender and Zonal Variation.”The project was presented by students Priya Dhari Singh, Sneha Kumari, and Kesar , who conducted their research under the expert supervision of the Head of the Department, Dr. Moon. By applying advanced statistical methods to national health data, the students identified significant disparities in cancer prevalence across different geographical zones and gender demographics in India. Their presentation was met with academic acclaim, highlighting the students’ ability to address critical health challenges through data-driven insights.

The research projects were thoroughly evaluated by distinguished judges, Dr. Arun Kumar Sinha, former Vice Chancellor and former PG Head of the Department of Statistics at Patna University, and Dr. Bal Gangadar, former PG Head of the Department of Mathematics at Patna University. They offered valuable insights and commended the students for their dedicated work and study.
