The Department of Chemistry, Patna Women’s College, Patna University, successfully organized an online guest lecture on the topic “Introduction to Drug Chemistry” for students, and faculty members on 21st May 2026.
The session was graced by eminent scientist Dr. Soma Roy, Ph.D., MRSC, Ramanujan Faculty Fellow at the Centre for Nanotechnology, IIT Guwahati, as the keynote speaker. The program began with a warm welcome address by Dr. Madhu Rani Sinha, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Chemistry, who also expressed gratitude to the respected Principal Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C. for her constant encouragement and support toward academic activities.
During the lecture, Dr. Soma Roy shared valuable insights into the fundamentals of drug chemistry, modern drug discovery approaches, medicinal chemistry, and emerging research trends in targeted anti-Cancer Drugs.
The session proved to be highly informative and intellectually stimulating. Students making the event engaging and enriching.
