Patna Women’s College (Autonomous) Patna University witnessed an enriching session on Bharatanatyam, organized by the Natraj Club, featuring the esteemed Bharatanatyam dancer and a graded artist from Doordarshan Kendra, Patna, Ms. Kriti Rani as the guest speaker. With an illustrious career spanning 14 years, she has represented Bihar at national and international levels, earning accolades such as the Yuva Kala Virasat Samman and the honor of performing before the former President of India. The session commenced with the lighting of the lamp by Ms. Enakshi Dey Biswas, Ms. Kriti Rani, and Ms. Komal Kumari, symbolizing the auspicious beginning of the event. The topic for the session was Bharatanatyam: Dance as a discipline. Ms. Kriti Rani captivated the audience with an insightful PPT presentation on Bharatanatyam, delving into its history, technique, and significance in Indian culture. She also emphasized on the importance of dance in the field of education, to make educational background strong, physical fitness and mental harmony. Her interactive approach engaged students, fostering a dynamic question-answer session that deepened their understanding of this classical art form. The event was moderated by Shreyashvi Raj, President of Natraj Club and was concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Parnoshree, Treasurer of Natraj Club, expressing gratitude for Ms. Kriti Rani’s inspiring presence and invaluable insights. The session left students with a newfound appreciation for Bharatanatyam and its role in preserving India’s rich cultural heritage.
