The Department of Zoology, Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), Patna University, organized a vibrant Freshers’ Day 2026 on 21st July 2026 to warmly welcome the newly admitted students into the Zoology family. The celebration was marked by enthusiasm, creativity, and a spirit of togetherness, providing the freshers with a memorable beginning to their academic journey.
The programme commenced on an auspicious note with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the triumph of knowledge over ignorance, followed by a soulful prayer song that created a serene and positive atmosphere.
The distinguished judges, Dr. Sister Celine Crasta A.C., Cultural Coordinator and Head, Department of History, and Ms. Anisha Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Patna Women’s College, were warmly welcomed by Dr. Sumeet Ranjan, Head, Department of Zoology.
The cultural extravaganza began with a graceful solo dance performance, followed by a melodious duet song, an entertaining skit, an expressive poetry recitation, and energetic group dance performances. The students showcased remarkable confidence, creativity, and artistic excellence, captivating the audience with their vibrant performances. Their enthusiasm and team spirit reflected the dynamic talent and potential of the newly inducted batch.
One of the highlights of the celebration was the Ms. Freshers 2026 contest. After a keen evaluation of the participants’ confidence, talent, stage presence, and overall personality, the judges crowned Arya Verma as Ms. Freshers 2026 of the Department of Zoology. The judges appreciated the outstanding performances of all the participants and encouraged the students to continue nurturing their talents while maintaining a balance between academics and co-curricular activities. They motivated the freshers to actively participate in departmental and college events to enrich their overall personality and learning experience.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks, expressing sincere gratitude to the respected judges, faculty members, support staff, senior students, and all the participants for making the event a grand success.
The entire event was successfully organized under the guidance and supervision of Dr. Sumeet Ranjan, Head, Department of Zoology, and Sister Luveena A.C., Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology. The faculty members and support staff of the department were also present throughout the programme. They warmly welcomed the freshers and encouraged them to make the most of the opportunities available during their academic journey, fostering a sense of belonging and camaraderie within the Department of Zoology.
