The Department of Statistics, Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), Patna University, organized a vibrant and memorable Freshers’ Day 2026 to warmly welcome the newly enrolled students of Batch 2026–2030 on July 21, 2026 . The celebration aimed to foster a sense of belonging among the freshers and provide a platform for interaction with faculty members and seniors in a lively and encouraging environment.
The programme commenced with a heartfelt expression of gratitude to Dr. Sister M. Rashmi, A.C., Principal, Patna Women’s College ( Autonomous) for her constant encouragement, visionary leadership, and unwavering support in promoting academic excellence and holistic student development.
The celebration began with a melodious Welcome Song, followed by a series of colourful cultural performances, including various dance forms and group songs, showcasing the enthusiasm, creativity, and talent of the students.
Dr. Moon, Head, Department of Statistics, formally welcomed the freshers and encouraged them to embrace every opportunity for learning, innovation, and personal growth during their academic journey.
The Department was honoured by the gracious presence of Dr. Sumeet Ranjan, Head, Department of Zoology, Patna Women’s College, and Ms. Enakshi Dey Biswas, Cultural Coordinator, Patna Women’s College, as the Guests of the Day. Their inspiring words motivated the students, and they also served as the judges for the Miss Freshers Competition.
The much-awaited Miss Freshers Competition witnessed enthusiastic participation, where the contestants impressed the audience with their confidence, talent, and personality.
Ms. Akanksha was crowned Miss Freshers 2026, receiving appreciation from the judges and audience alike for her outstanding performance.
The programme was also graced by the presence of the faculty members of the Department of Statistics, whose encouragement and support contributed significantly to the success of the event.
The programme concluded on a joyous note, strengthening the bond between seniors and freshers while reflecting the Department’s commitment to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and vibrant academic environment.
