Reinforcing its commitment to environmental sustainability and civic responsibility, Srishti Environment Club, in collaboration with the Department of Geography and the ECO Task Force, Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), Patna University, successfully organized a Campus Conservation Drive on 25.07.2026. The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from 320 students representing the Departments of Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics, Statistics, Commerce (Accounting & Finance), and Commerce (Taxation & Auditing).
With great zeal and dedication, the students undertook a comprehensive cleanliness drive across every corner of the college campus, collecting waste and ensuring a cleaner, greener, and healthier environment. The activity aimed to instill a sense of environmental stewardship among students while emphasizing that conservation begins with individual responsibility and collective action. The drive also sought to inspire students to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives and become ambassadors of environmental protection within their communities.
The event reflected the institution’s vision of fostering environmentally conscious citizens who recognize the importance of preserving natural resources, maintaining clean surroundings, and contributing towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to sustainable cities, responsible consumption, and climate action.
The conservation drive received wholehearted support from the faculty members of all the participating departments, whose active cooperation and encouragement played a significant role in making the programme a grand success.
The entire event was meticulously coordinated under the able guidance and supervision of Dr. Sumeet Ranjan, Head, Department of Zoology and Vice President, ECO Task Force, Patna Women’s College, and Ms. Meenakshi Mishra, Assistant Professor, Department of Geography and Coordinator, Srishti Environment Club. They appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the students and emphasized that such initiatives not only enhance the beauty of the campus but also nurture a lifelong commitment towards environmental conservation and sustainable living.
