The Department of Education, Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), held the formal inauguration of the B.Ed. batch (2026-28) and the newly introduced four years Integrated Teacher Education Programme ITEP batch (2026 – 30) on 25th July 2026, marking a new academic journey. The Department of Education has started four years B.Sc. B.Ed. Course with fifty students offering double major in Education and subjects like Zoology, Botany, Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry, from 2026, in accordance with NEP 2020 flagship programme of teacher-training, to prepare future ready teachers. The college is also offering a minor paper to its students, along with multiple exit options throughout the four years course. The event was graced by Dr. Sister M. Tanisha A.C., Vice-Principal, Patna Women’s College Autonomous and the Head of the Department of Science, Dr Pinky Prasad (Botany), Dr Ravi Kumar (Mathematics), Dr Sumeet Ranjan (Zoology), Dr Madhu Rani Sinha (Chemistry), Dr. Kavita Verma (Physics), and Ms. Geetanjali Choudhary (Fashion Design).
Dr. Madhumita, Assistant Professor, warmly welcomed the audience, which was followed by a melodious welcome song by second year students. The programme began with the ceremonial Lighting of the lamp by all the guests. Dr. Rashmi Sinha and Dr. Nitu Chauhan shared the inspiring Story of A Butterfly, emphasizing perseverance, transformation and growth. Dr. Sister M. Tanisha A.C. encouraged the new students to recognize and utilize their own potential instead of constantly seeking external support. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Dr. Madhumita.
