A Value-Based Personality Development Class was conducted for the PG Semester III students of the Department of Zoology.
Title: Stop Carrying the Stone of the Past
Department: Zoology
Facilitator: Dr. Sumeet Ranjan
Class: PG Semester III
Date: 31.07.2026
The personality class commenced with the screening of a thought-provoking short video that portrayed the journey of a bird which engraved each of its memories onto a stone and carried them wherever it flew. As the years passed, the number of stones increased, making them so heavy that the bird eventually lost its ability to fly. At this crucial moment, a wise owl advised the bird to let go of the weight of its past, explaining that memories and experiences are meant to teach valuable life lessons, not to become burdens that prevent us from moving forward.
The video was followed by an engaging discussion on its underlying message. Students actively participated, sharing thoughtful reflections on the importance of maintaining a positive outlook and learning from past experiences without allowing them to define the present. They recognized that holding on to past disappointments and regrets can hinder personal growth, while embracing life’s lessons with optimism fosters resilience and emotional well-being. The session encouraged students to view challenges as opportunities for growth and to move forward with confidence, hope, and a renewed sense of purpose.
