The Department of Microbiology-World Hepatitis Day on 28 July 2026

The Department of Microbiology, Patna Women’s College, Autonomous, observed World Hepatitis Day on 28 July 2026 by organizing a Reel Making Competition to spread awareness about hepatitis and its prevention. The programme aimed to educate students about the causes, modes of transmission, different types of hepatitis, preventive measures, and the importance of early diagnosis and vaccination. Students enthusiastically participated in the competition by creating informative and creative reels on the significance of World Hepatitis Day.
Through their presentations, the students effectively combined scientific knowledge with digital creativity to promote important public health awareness. The competition was judged by a panel.of judges who declared Group 3 as winner comprising of members Akriti Kumari, Soumya Kumari, Nisha Yadav, Shrawani Kumari, and Kriti Kashyap, followed by Group 2 invluding members Sanya Mehta, Arti Kumari, Suchika Rathaur, Rukhsar Praween, Nazia Parween, Rafiya Jamal and Group 4 at 3rd position comprised of Nikita Pandey, Vibha, Richa Kumari, Mansi and Kumari Anshu Yadav.
The session was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Jaya Philip,Head of Department, Dr. Niti Yashvardhini, Dr. Preeti Swarupa, and Dr. Swetnisha, Assistant Professors, Department of Microbiology, who provided continuous support and guidance for successful execution of the programme.The programme reinforced the importance of public awareness in prevention and control of hepatitis and encouraged students to contribute towards building a healthier and more informed society.
