CAG–ICSSR Colloquium on State of Finances-Bihar and Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana

Faculty members and students of Patna Women’s College, Autonomous, participated in the CAG – ICSSR Colloquium – Bihar Chapter, on State of Finances- Bihar and Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, jointly organised by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) and the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) on 18 August 2026 at A.N. Sinha Institute of Social Studies, Patna.

The colloquium featured expert deliberations on State Finances, by eminent resource persons, followed by an interactive Q&A session, providing participants an opportunity to understand issues relating to Bihar’s public finances, government expenditure, fiscal accountability and the role of public audit. The second thematic session focused on Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) and social-sector spending, followed by interaction with the experts. Discussions around the CAG’s audit perspective highlighted the importance of transparency, accountability and effective utilisation of public resources.

Representing the College were Dr. Soofia Fatima with students- Komal Kishore, Kashwi Kushal, Priyani Pragya and   Shruti Kumari   from the Department of Commerce (Accounting & Finance); CS Shweta Shah with Priya Rani, Saloni Kumari, Monalisa Mervyn and Komal Kumari from the Department of Commerce (Taxation & Auditing); and Ms. Kamaljeet Kaur with Eksha Kumari, Tanvi Singh, Aayushi and Anu Shruti from the Department of Economics.

The colloquium was an enriching experience, to connect academic learning with contemporary concerns of public finance, healthcare policy, audit and good governance.
