On 28th July, 2026, the Department of English staged an adaptation of George Bernard Shaw’s “Pygmalion”. The theatrical performance was organised in honour of Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., Principal, Patna Women’s College. The event was meticulously directed by Dr. Shahla Rehana, Associate Professor and Ms. Anisha Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Patna Women’s College. The program was attended by students, alumni and faculty. The play reimagines the Greek myth of Pygmalion with the character of Professor Henry Higgins humorously attempting to transform a flower girl, Eliza, into a noble lady through his expertise in Phonetics. It contemplates the hypocrisy of social differences, and the true value of human life and dignity.
