Workshop on “Corporate Governance and Secretarial Standards: Towards a Transparent India”

The Department of Commerce – Taxation and Auditing, Patna Women’s College, organized a Workshop on “Corporate Governance and Secretarial Standards: Towards a Transparent India” on 12th August, 2026 at 10 am in MVEIC Hall.The resource person for the event was Dr. (CS) Mala Kumari Upadhyay. The programme commenced with felicitation of the guest with a plant sapling by CS Shweta Shah, Head, Department of Commerce – Taxation and Auditing.The session focused on the importance of good governance, transparency, accountability, compliance and ethical practices in building a sustainable and transparent corporate India. The workshop also adopted a practical and application-oriented approach, with relevant case laws and real-world corporate situations. The Workshop was attended by the students of Semester-III and V of B. Com (Hons.) Commerce Professional and Semester-I of B. Com (Hons.) Taxation & Auditing. Other faculty members present were Dr. Soofia Fatima, CA Chirantan Bhattacharya, Ms. Mona Kumari and Ms. Sohini Priya. The session was moderated by Qamrunnisa Razavi of Semester-III and the vote of thanks was proposed by Monalisa Mervyn of Semester-V.
