The NSS Unit of Patna Women’s College organized National Sports Day, Khelo India Samwaad Program
at Carmel Hall, on 27th August 2026. A total of 150 NSS volunteers from Patna Women’s College
participated enthusiastically in National Sports Day, khelo India Samwaad Program.
On National Sports Day 2026 at 10:30 am, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji addressed over 8 lakh
youth in a virtual “Khelo India Samvaad,” emphasizing the development of a world-class sports
ecosystem to prepare for the 2036 Olympics. Highlighting sports as a tool for character-building and a
“Nasha Mukt Yuva” (drug-free youth) movement, he urged the younger generation to integrate sports
into their lifestyles to drive a “Viksit Bharat”
The programme commenced with the arrival of the Chief Guests, Smt. Nisha Kumari, District Youth
Officer, My Bharat, Patna, and sports icon Shagun Singh, Wushu athlete, along with the NSS Programme
Officers. The Programme Officers, symbolizing the beginning of a new journey dedicated to
sportsmanship, fitness, and national pride. This was followed by the inspiring Khelo India Samwaad
theme, which created an enthusiastic atmosphere, encouraging the youth volunteers to actively
participate in sports and embrace an active, healthy lifestyle.
The interactive questionnaire session at the Khelo India Samwaad, national Wushu gold medalist Shagun
Singh and shot put athlete Vidya Mala shared their inspiring sporting journeys, shedding light on the
steady evolution of grassroots sports infrastructure. Reflecting on their initial challenges, both athletes
highlighted how the scaling up of the Khelo India Mission and the establishment of dedicated Khelo
India Centres have bridged massive resource gaps, providing modern equipment and structured training
pathways right at the grassroots level. They passionately urged the youth volunteers to look past
conventional limitations, leverage the government’s expanding sporting ecosystem, and step onto the
field. Their message to the next generation was clear: physical discipline, resilience, and early
participation are the true stepping stones to building a healthier nation and unlocking India’s future
Olympic glory.
The event gained further momentum when popular social media influencer Kaushiki Kumari took the
stage to share her inspiring experiences from the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue. She spoke
passionately about how digital platforms can be used for positive social change, rather than just
entertainment. Reflecting on her own journey, she highlighted how the youth can bridge the gap
between national policy and grassroots action. She strongly encouraged the young attendees to register
on the Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) portal, urging them to step up as active change-makers.
The event was seamlessly moderated by Ayushi Arya, the NSS Unit Leader, whose exceptional
coordination and vibrant energy kept the audience engaged throughout the sessions. Her seamless
transitions between the distinguished guests, athletes, and influencers ensured a flawless flow,
reflecting the true spirit of youth leadership and management excellence.
The event was successfully conducted with the valuable guidance and support of Dr. Jyoti Chandra
(Department of Chemistry) and Dr. Brahma Nand (Department of Hindi), NSS Programme Officers. Their
constant support and encouragement ensured the smooth and organized participation of the
volunteers.
