On the occasion of World First Aid Day, the Health Centre, Department of Home Science, Patna Women’s College, in collaboration with Mediversal Healthcare Pvt. Ltd., jointly organized an awareness and training session on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for the teaching and support staff of the college on 12.09.2026. The session aimed at enhancing the participants’ awareness and practical knowledge of CPR and basic emergency response, so that they could respond effectively in case of a cardiac emergency or sudden collapse. The session included an informative talk by Ansamma Thomas (Chief Nursing Superintendent). Mr. Sundaram Singh explained the correct techniques of chest compression, appropriate hand positioning, compression rate and depth and the importance of maintaining continuity of CPR.
A total of 150 teaching staff and 83 support staff participated in the training programme. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Sarita Srivastava, Health Centre In – charge, Patna Women’s College. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Sister M. Tanisha A.C., Principal, Patna Women’s College and Dr. Shazia Hussain, Head, Department of Home Science. The session was highly informative and provided the staff with essential knowledge and practical skills to respond during medical emergencies.
