On 16th September, 2026, under “Season of Creation” and in celebration of Ozone Day, SRISHTI Environment Club in collaboration with Department of Geography and ECO Task Force, organised E-waste Collection and a Guest Lecture on “Challenges and Issues of E-waste”.
The programme started with the collection of E-Waste from all the departments of Patna Women’s College. The E-Waste collected was handed over to the E-Waste Management Handler “Karo Sambhav”.
This was followed by a Guest Lecture by our esteemed Resource Person, Dr. Vinita Prasad, Associate Professor, Department of Geography, A.N. College.
The lecture consisted of understanding the sources and generation of E-Waste, challenges faced, chemicals released into the environment and their impacts, health implications and proper mechanisms for the disposal of E-Waste.
Members of SRISHTI Environment Club along with ECO Task Force showed their enthusiastic participation.
The programme was made possible through the supervision of Dr. Amrita Chowdhury, Head, Department of Geography, and constant guidance of Ms. Meenakshi Mishra, Co-ordinator, SRISHTI Environment Club and Assistant Professor, Department of Geography.
The programme was moderated by Vagisha Variyar, Env. and Dis. Secretary and the Vote of Thanks was presented by Aliba Nadeem, Jt. General Secretary.
