The Department of Home Science and Department of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics, Patna Women’s College (Autonomous) , Patna University jointly organized a guest lecture to mark the occasion of Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2026 on 15th September 2026. The event was Centered around the theme “Hamari Anganwadi, Hamari Jimmedari,” the program highlighted early childhood care, nutrition, development, and community participation.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Sunita Kumari, Assistant Professor, Department of Home Science and Event Coordinator, setting the context for collective responsibility in child welfare. As a gesture of gratitude and commitment to growth, plant saplings were presented to the distinguished resource persons. Smt. Mamta Verma, District Programme Officer, Patna addressed the gathering by sharing valuable insights on child development and community-level initiatives, emphasizing the critical role Anganwadi centers play in supporting early growth. Smt. Shashi Kumari, Child Development Officer,Patna Sadar further highlighted the importance of Nutrition of young children, pregnant women, lactating mothers, adolescents and thier families also they focus on malnutrition specially stunting in young children and iron deficiency anemia among women. Reinforcing that ensuring child well-being is a shared social responsibility.
The programme was moderated by Anushka Gupta and Ananya Awasthi from the Department of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Vishnu Priya Assistant Professor, Department of Home Science acknowledging the guidance, leadership, and active participation of the dignitaries, faculty members, and students present. A total of 148 students attended the programme. The event was guided by the Head of the Department of Home Science, Dr. Shazia Husain and Dr. Shubham Sinha, Head, Department of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics. All faculty members and students of Home Science department and Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics department were present in the programme.
