In the occasion of Earth Day, SRISHTI Environment Club organised an E-Waste Management Dialogue and Collection Drive in collaboration with Department of Geography and ECO Task Force .
The event commenced with planting of seeds showing gratitude towards mother earth.Then the esteemed resource person Mr. Abhishek Kumar, Procurement Head, MEW Consultants presented a presentation on harmful effects of E-Waste on our environment, health of Women and children, followed by creating awareness about the rules and regulations associated with proper collection and disposal of E-Waste. He encouraged the audience throughout the program supporting us in the initiative taken by the SRISHTI Club to safeguard the environment. Eventually, the program proceeded towards E-Waste collection from the students and faculty members. The collection drive was conducted from 22nd March to 10th April where around 290 students submitted 370 E-Waste items.
The program was organised under the guidance of Dr. Amrita Choudhary, Head Department of Geography and Dr. Shobha Shrivastava, Head Department of Zoology and Vice President ECO Task Force. It was co-ordinated by Ms. Meenakshi Mishra, Co-ordinator, SRISHTI Environment Club and Assistant Professor, Department of Geography. The session was moderated by Mridul Megha and Garima Raj. Student Council Incharge Vagisha Variyar, Env. and Dis. Secretary.
