Awareness Programme at Anganwadi Centre

As a part of the series of events organised to commemorate ‘World Breastfeeding Promotion Week (1st August to 7th August)’, the third and concluding activity was conducted on 6th August, 2025 at a local Anganwadi Centre to create awareness among lactating mothers, pregnant women as well as adolescent girls. The Winners of the Poster Making Competition: 1st Position- Neha Kumari, Sara Iraqi, and Chandani Singh from Department of Home Science; 1st Position- Asfa Jabeen, Asiya Naaz, Adeeba Kulsum, Fatma Naseem, 2nd Position- Ananya Awasthi, Prachi Kumari, Satakshi Soumya, 3rd Position- Rishika, Khushi Pandey, Gauri Swastika and Aradhana Shreya from Department of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics presented their ideas through posters, highlighting important aspects of breastfeeding.
Dr. Sunita Kumari, Assistant Professor, Department of Home Science and Ms. Vishnu Priya, Assistant Professor, Department of Home Science accompanied the students. The Anganwadi Supervisor and Anganwadi helpers were also present on the occasion. They shared their views, appreciated the efforts and encouraged the students for their active participation.
Lactating mothers attentively listened to the presentations, expressed happiness at the initiative and assured that they would adopt the suggestions shared. Students addressed common myths and facts about breastfeeding and emphasized the significant role of family members and co-workers in building a sustainable support system for promoting breastfeeding practices.
