The Department of Data Science and Analytics, Patna Women’s College, inaugurated its newly formed DataMinds – the Data Science & Analytics Club on 3rd September 2026 at B.J. Sullivan Hall. The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and a welcome song.
Dr. Priyadarshini, Head of the Department of Data Science and Analytics and Coordinator of DataMinds, welcomed the Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Amarendra Mishra, Former PG Head, Department of Statistics, Patna University. She highlighted DataMinds’ vision of promoting data literacy, practical learning, and real-world application of classroom knowledge.
The Chief Guest in his address underscored the rising significance of Data Science and Analytics, emphasizing its role in extracting meaningful insights from data. He highlighted the need for data-driven reasoning and data literacy in schools, the growing demand for skilled data professionals, and the importance of handling data with integrity and ethics. He further noted that individuals proficient in data can make impactful contributions across diverse fields such as healthcare, education, and risk analysis.
The Chief Guest unveiled the DataMinds Club logo, formally inaugurating the club. The ceremony continued with badge distribution to the office bearers and the oath-taking ceremony, followed by the Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Shaskshi Singh, President of DataMinds Club.
The inauguration marked the beginning of an exciting journey of learning, innovation, and collaboration. With its vision of “Empowering Every Student with the Language of Data,” DataMinds aims to provide students with meaningful opportunities to explore data and prepare for future challenges.
