Day 3 of the Faculty Development Programme continued with engaging and insightful deliberations on contemporary research practices. The first technical session was conducted by Dr. Sevuga Pandian Asirvatham, Dean, School of Computational and Physical Sciences, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru, on the topic “Effective Use of AI in Academic Research and Scholarly Writing.”

The session highlighted the transformative role of AI in enhancing research productivity and academic writing. Participants were introduced to Paperpal, an AI-powered academic writing assistant, and were guided through the complete scholarly writing workflow—from brainstorming and planning to drafting, researching, citing, editing, and final manuscript submission.
The second technical session was delivered by Mr. Jaheer Mukthar K.P., Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru, on “Research and Publications in High-Indexed Journals.” The session offered valuable insights into journal selection, manuscript preparation, publication ethics, indexing systems, and effective strategies for publishing quality research in reputed journals.
The session provided participants with practical insights into enhancing the quality of academic writing, upholding research ethics, and effectively integrating AI tools into the research workflow. The Session was moderated by Dr. Bhawna Sinha, Dean IT & Head, Department of Computer Applications (MCA).
