Department of Biotechnology, Patna Women’s College Organises Two-Day Workshop on Biotechnology Techniques

Patna, July 23, 2026: The Department of Biotechnology, Patna Women’s College inaugurated a two-day workshop on “Biotechnology Techniques” on 23 July 2026. The workshop, scheduled for 23–24 July 2026, is being conducted for undergraduate, postgraduate, and research scholars with the objective of providing hands-on training in essential biotechnology techniques.

The inaugural session was graced by Principal Dr. Sister M. Rashmi AC, Vice Principal Dr. Sister M. Tanisha AC, Superior, Avila Convent, Dr. Sister Jincy AC, Dean, Faculty of Science, and other faculty members of the college, who encouraged the participants to strengthen their practical skills and scientific aptitude through such academic initiatives.

The first day featured practical sessions on DNA isolation, Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), and inoculation of microbial cultures for ethanol production, enabling participants to gain exposure to fundamental laboratory techniques widely used in biotechnology research and industry.

The workshop is being coordinated under the leadership of Dr. Arti Kumari, Head of the Department, with Dr. Alok Ranjan, Dr. Vivek Raj, and Dr. Premlata Kumari Asst. Prof, Department of Biotechnology.

Through this workshop, the Department of Biotechnology reaffirms its commitment to promoting experiential learning and equipping students and research scholars with practical skills essential for academic and professional excellence in biotechnology.
