The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Patna Women’s College participated in a one-day Disaster Risk Management Workshop organized by the Bihar State Disaster Management Authority (BSDMA) in collaboration with the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) , New Delhi.
The workshop aimed to create awareness among youth about disaster preparedness, risk reduction, and building disaster-resilient communities. Experts delivered informative sessions on the Disaster Risk Reduction Road Map, the role of Artificial Intelligence in disaster management, government initiatives, and collaborative efforts with organizations such as ISRO and TCS.
The programme featured addresses by Shri Ratnesh Sada, Hon’ble Minister, Disaster Management Department, Government of Bihar; Shri Madhup Vyas, Executive Director, NIDM ; Dr. Uday Kant Mishra, Vice Chairman, BSDMA; and Hon’ble Governor of Bihar, Lt. Gen. Syed Ata Hasnain (Retd.), who encouraged students to become responsible citizens and ambassadors of disaster resilience.
