In commemoration of the 79th Independence Day of India, the Department of Botany, Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), organized an E-Poster Presentation Competition on the theme “Honouring Freedom, Inspiring the Future.” The event was designed to foster patriotic values and creative expression among students while inspiring them to reflect on the responsibilities of citizenship and nation-building.

Dr. Pinky Prasad, Head, Department of Botany, warmly welcomed the gathering and introduced the esteemed panel of judges. The final judgment was made by Dr. Pallavi Ambreesh Kumar, Head, Department of BBA, Patna Women’s College, and Dr. Rohit Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, Patna Women’s College. The event was conducted under the able supervision of Dr. Urvashi Sinha and Dr. Piyush Kumar Rai, who ensured the smooth execution of all proceedings.

The competition saw active participation from 55 students of the department, who took part in groups and presented a diverse range of thoughtful, visually compelling posters. Each submission creatively interpreted the theme, highlighting various facets of India’s journey to independence and its aspirations for the future.

Following a rigorous evaluation based on originality, thematic relevance, and visual impact, the results were declared. The first prize was awarded to Code 13 – Asra Siddiqui and Aprajita. The second prize went to Code 8 – Anushka Singh and Sonakshi Gupta, while the third prize was secured by Code 6 – Insiya Ali and Prity Singh.

The Department of Botany extends heartfelt congratulations to the winners and appreciation to all participants for their commendable efforts. The event not only showcased the students’ creative talents but also reinforced a collective spirit of national pride and future-oriented thinking.
