The Department of Political Science organised a Freshers’ Day Programme on 30th July, 2025 for the students of BA I and MA I in Carmel Hall at 11:30 am. The programme started with a welcome song which was a medley of old songs celebrating the enthusiasm of youth. It was followed by a self-composed poetry recited by Tripti Rani, a student of B.A. I.
A vibrant group dance performance became the highlight of the day, beautifully portraying the theme of ‘Unity in diversity’. The students showcased the cultural richness of different Indian states including Manipur, Gujarat, Kashmir and Assam using traditional costumes and folk dance. The performance also culminated with a symbolic portrayal of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, representing the spirit of national integration and unity.
The judges for the event were Ms. Enakshi Dey Biswas and Ms. Kriti Rani who are the cultural co-ordinators of Patna Women’s College. They expressed their admiration and appreciation for the creativity, confidence and active participation by the students.
The celebration concluded with a cheerful group photograph capturing the joy and togetherness of the occasion, and marking a memorable beginning for the new batch of students.
