The Department of Mass Communication, Patna Women’s College, Autonomous, Patna University, organized a guest lecture on the occasion of World PR Day 2026 on the theme “The Golden Age of Strategic PR.” The programme aimed to acquaint students with the evolving role of Public Relations in today’s dynamic communication landscape.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr Aprajita Pathak, Assistant Professor, Department of Mass Communication, who introduced the significance of the occasion and the guest speaker. Ms. Roma, Head of the Department, felicitated the speaker with a plant sapling as a symbol of appreciation and sustainability. The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Nikhil Anand Giri, Head, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic and Persian University, Patna. He highlighted the importance of strategic PR in reputation management, stakeholder engagement, brand building, and crisis communication. Through practical case studies, including the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation’s public awareness campaigns, he demonstrated how effective communication helps build public trust.The lecture concluded with an engaging interactive session, followed by a Vote of Thanks.
