Patna, 16 July 2026: To mark the Season of Creation, the ECO Task Force (ETF) in collaboration with the Department of Zoology, Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), Patna University, organised a Human Chain on Water Conservation on the college campus on 16 July 2026. The programme aimed to create awareness among students and the wider society about the importance of conserving water and protecting this vital natural resource.
A total of 175 members of the ECO Task Force actively participated in the human chain and raised awareness about the need for responsible and sustainable use of water. The students conveyed the message that water is a shared responsibility and every individual has a role to play in its conservation.
The human chain highlighted the growing need to prevent water wastage, protect water bodies, promote rainwater harvesting and adopt water-conscious practices in everyday life. Through their participation, the students urged society to recognise that conservation of water is essential not only for the present generation but also for future generations.
All the teachers of the Department of Zoology were present during the programme and encouraged the students in their efforts towards environmental conservation. The entire event was coordinated by Dr. Sumeet Ranjan, Head, Department of Zoology, who emphasised the importance of involving young people in environmental protection and building a culture of responsible use of natural resources.
The programme reflected the spirit of the Season of Creation, reminding everyone that protecting nature is a collective responsibility. The students’ message through the human chain was simple and strong: “Save Water Today, Secure Life Tomorrow.”
The event concluded with a renewed commitment by the ECO Task Force members to promote environmental awareness and encourage sustainable practices within the college and society.
