Patna Women’s College proudly hosted the inauguration ceremony of the much-anticipated Natraj Nritya Club on 21.10.2024 at BJ Sullivan Hall. The event marked a significant step in promoting cultural and artistic development among students, with a special focus on the classical and traditional dance forms of India and the world. The inauguration ceremony was graced by Mrs. Enakshi Dey Biswas, Coordinator, Natraj Nritya Club, and Ms. Komal Kumari, Co-Ordinator, Natraj Nritya Club. Mrs. Biswas delivered an insightful session, sharing the history and cultural significance of dance, various dance forms, and their evolution. She emphasized the contributions of iconic figures who shaped global dance traditions. MS. Komal Kumari addressed the newly inducted members of the club, explaining the rules and regulations that will govern the activities of the Natraj Nritya Club. Her guidance provided clarity on the functioning of the club and its role in promoting cultural awareness through dance.Adding to the vibrancy of the event, Ms. Kriti Rani, resource person, gave a captivating performance and explained the essence of Natyashastra, the ancient treatise on performing arts. Her beautiful display of the nine emotions or Navras through her dance left the audience in awe. The Natraj Nritya Club aims to nurture and promote classical, folk, and contemporary dance forms among the students of Patna Women’s College. It serves as a platform for budding dancers to showcase their talent and explore the diverse world of dance.
