International Yoga Day Celebration 2026

The NSS Unit of Patna Women’s College actively participated in the 12th International Yoga Day celebration organized by Patna University at Patna Science College, Patna, on 21 June 2026 (Sunday). The programme was conducted on the theme “ Yoga for Healthy Ageing”.

The programme began with the formal welcome of the dignitaries by Prof. Atul Aditya Pandey, NSS Coordinator and Principal, Patna Science College . The dignitaries were welcomed with bouquets, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.
In his address, Prof. Ajay Kumar Singh, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Patna University emphasized the significance of the theme “ Yoga for Healthy Ageing” and highlighted the timeless message that “Health is Wealth.” He spoke about the immense benefits of yoga in maintaining physical fitness, mental peace, emotional balance, and spiritual well-being. He encouraged the students to adopt yoga and regular exercise as an integral part of their daily lives to ensure a healthy and productive future.
The yoga session was conducted by Dr. Madhubala and her team. The programme commenced with Om chanting and the Shanti Mantra, creating a serene and positive atmosphere. Participants then performed a series of yogic exercises and asanas, including neck and shoulder exercises, Katichakrasana, Ardha Chakrasana, Shashankasana, Ardha Ustrasana, Makarasana, and Shavasana. The session also included the practice of Pranayama techniques such as Bhramari and Nadi Shodhana, which help improve concentration, reduce stress, and promote overall well-being.
The programme concluded successfully with enthusiastic participation from all present. The celebration effectively spread awareness about the importance of yoga and inspired participants to embrace a healthy, disciplined, and balanced lifestyle, thereby upholding the true spirit of the National Service Scheme (NSS).
