The NSS Unit of Patna Women’s College organized an Orientation-cum-Oath Taking Ceremony for newly enrolled NSS volunteers on 13 August 2026 at Carmel Hall. The programme aimed to familiarize volunteers with the objectives, values, responsibilities, and spirit of NSS and to motivate them towards community service and nation-building.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, Mr. Alok Kumar Singh, Assistant Director (Youth), Bihar State AIDS Control Society (BSACS) , along with the NSS Programme Officers, followed by the inspiring NSS Lakshya Geet. Dr. Brahma Nand, NSS Programme Officer, delivered the welcome address, while Dr. Jyoti Chandra, NSS Programme Officer, felicitated the Chief Guest.
Mr. Alok Kumar Singh addressed the volunteers and highlighted the importance of youth participation, discipline, social responsibility, and dedicated service. The newly enrolled volunteers then took the NSS Oath, pledging to uphold the values of service and contribute towards the welfare of society.
The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Jyoti Chandra, followed by the National Anthem. The ceremony successfully inspired the volunteers to embrace the NSS motto, “Not Me But You,” and actively participate in community service and social development activities
