Poster Making Competition organised on the occasion of World Breastfeeding Promotion Week (1st – 7th August 2026)
In observance of World Breastfeeding Promotion Week (1st–7th August 2026), the Department of Home Science and the Department of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics at Patna Women’s College jointly organized a Poster Making Competition on 3rd August 2026. The event was held in Room No. 29 and Room No. 53, with participation from a total of 14 groups representing both departments.
The event aimed to raise awareness among students regarding the significance of breastfeeding for the health and well-being of both infants and mothers. The theme for the competition was “Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works.” This event provided a valuable platform for students to express their understanding of maternal and child nutrition while promoting awareness about the importance of breastfeeding in achieving improved health outcomes. Faculty members from both departments commended the participants for their creativity, dedication, and thoughtful presentations.
The competition concluded successfully with a positive response from students, underscoring the importance of promoting breastfeeding awareness as part of World Breastfeeding Promotion Week 2026. The entries were evaluated based on creativity, clarity of message, relevance to the theme, and overall presentation by the students. The competition was judged by Dr. Sapna Kumari, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology, and Dr. Tabassum, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology. The event was coordinated by Dr. Sunita Kumari, Assistant Professor, Department of Home Science and Dr. Supriya, Assistant Professor, Department of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics.
The winners of the competition were as follows:
First Position – (Group 6) Sanjana Ray, Nazneen Sidra, Ananya Singh;
Second Position – (Group 4) Shruti Priya, Deepti Raj, Manisha Kumari;
Third Position – (Group 9) Manisha Mishra, Samridhi Sikha, Prachi Kumari, Kunjal Sinha.
