On the Occasion of National Coding Week 2026

The Department of Computer Applications (MCA), Patna Women’s College, in collaboration with InternNexus, organized PROMPTATHON 2026 on 16 September 2026 as part of the celebrations of National Coding Week 2026.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome by Dr. Bhawna Sinha, Head, Department of Computer Applications, who welcomed the guests by offering plant saplings and encouraged the students to actively participate in the programme and explore the emerging possibilities of Generative Artificial Intelligence.
The Orientation and Briefing Session, held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon, was conducted by Mr. Piyush Pandey, CTO, TechIntelliverse Pvt. Ltd., along with his team from InternNexus. The session provided students with valuable insights into Generative AI, Prompt Engineering, effective use of AI tools, and innovative problem-solving approaches. The interactive briefing helped participants understand how well-designed prompts can be used to generate meaningful and practical AI-driven solutions.
Following the orientation, the PromptaThon Challenge was conducted from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM. Students worked in teams on practical problem statements, applying their creativity, prompt-engineering skills, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities to develop innovative solutions using Generative AI.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, with 154 students participating in 67 groups. The participation was not limited to the Department of Computer Applications; students from various programmes, including BCA, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Data Science and Analytics, and MCA, actively participated in the competition. This diverse participation provided an opportunity for students from different academic backgrounds to collaborate, exchange ideas, and apply their knowledge to emerging AI-based technologies.
The event was coordinated by Mr. Praveen Kumar and Ms. Richa Verma, faculty members of the Department of Computer Applications, along with the InternNexus team. Their coordinated efforts ensured the smooth conduct of the programme.
The winning team of PROMPTATHON 2026 was “Brainwave”, with Sakshi Kumari as the Team Leader and Kalyani Kumari as the Team Member, both from MCA Semester III. The team was recognized for its performance in the challenge and received winning certificates along with a token prize.
All participants were awarded e-certificates in recognition of their participation.
The programme concluded on a positive note, providing students with an engaging platform to explore Generative AI, strengthen their prompt-engineering skills, and develop innovative solutions to practical problems. PROMPTATHON 2026 successfully contributed to the objectives of National Coding Week by encouraging technological awareness, creativity, collaboration, and responsible use of emerging technologies among students.
