Patna Women’s College, (Autonomous) Patna University, annually celebrates the Carmel Feast on 16 July, a significant religious observance dedicated to Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the Patroness of the Carmelite Order. The formal celebration held on July 15, 2025, in the college’s prestigious Mother Veronica Auditorium. The Carmel Feast is a solemn prayer service that expresses profound gratitude to Mother Mary for her guidance and support during the formative years of the Carmelite Order. The programme began with a graceful prayer dance on the devotional song “Prem Ki Moorat”, invoking divine blessings. The origin of the Carmel tradition was artistically portrayed through a powerful skit, “Soundarya Ki Rani Ma Carmel”, depicting the triumph of faith over idolatry, inspired by the story of Prophet Elijah. The skit featured a hymn in honour of Mother Mary and a soulful dance performance. Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., Principal, Patna Women’s College, addressed the gathering, extending warm greetings and heartfelt appreciation to all those involved in the success of the event. She reflected on the core values of the Carmel family, the spiritual significance of Mother Mary, and the enduring importance of celebrating the Carmel Feast with devotion and unity. The event was moderated by Vaishnavi, Department of Microbiology and Priyani Pandey, Department of Mass Communication.
The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Soumya Vartika, Jt. General Secretary, Student Council 2025-26, Patna Women’s College.
