The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Patna Women’s College organized an Interactive Session under the Red Ribbon Club (RRC) on 30th September 2026 . The session aimed to enhance awareness among NSS volunteers about HIV/AIDS, Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), prevention, and the importance of maintaining a healthy and informed lifestyle.
A team from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai , visited the college and interacted with the NSS volunteers. The team conducted an engaging awareness session focusing on HIV/AIDS prevention, transmission, treatment, stigma, discrimination, and the importance of empathy and social support for people living with HIV/AIDS.
The interaction provided an open and informative platform for students to clarify their doubts and share their views. The TISS team also conducted individual questionnaire-based interactions with the participants to understand their existing awareness, perceptions, and attitudes regarding HIV/AIDS and related health concerns. The one-to-one interaction encouraged students to respond freely and confidently.
The team further invited suggestions from the NSS volunteers regarding future awareness programmes, communication materials, digital campaigns, and student-friendly health initiatives. The feedback collected during the session will help in developing more effective and youth-oriented awareness activities under the Red Ribbon Club.
