Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), Patna University, observed Samvidhan Diwas (Constitution Day) on 26 November 2025 through a series of reflective and academic activities organised by the Department of Political Science in collaboration with JAGRITI – The Constitutional Values & Ethics Club. The observance began at 1:05 PM with a Mass Preamble Reading conducted simultaneously across the campus. Led by Ms. Simran Sinha, Co-Coordinator of the Jagriti Club and Assistant Professor, the Preamble was read entirely in Hindi, enabling students, faculty, and non-teaching staff to participate collectively in reaffirming the ideals of Justice, Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity. At 2:30 PM, a special lecture on “The Importance of the Constitution and the Preamble” was held at Carmel Hall for the non-teaching staff. Delivered by Mr. Adweetiva Sinha, Coordinator of the Jagriti Club and Assistant Professor, the session highlighted the Constitution as the supreme guiding framework of democracy and emphasised the ethical and aspirational message of the Preamble, underscoring constitutional morality as a lived practice.
The day concluded at 4:30 PM with an online academic event, “We the People: Echoes of the Constituent Assembly (Recreation of the Constituent Assembly)”, coordinated by Mr. Adıyzetiya Sinha. Students reenacted the historic Preamble Debates of the Constituent Assembly, bringing alive the deliberations of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and other eminent members, and offering deeper insights into the philosophical foundations of the Constitution. Dr. Sister M. Rashmi AC, Principal, appreciated the Department of Political Science and the Jagriti Club for organising meaningful, academically enriching programmes that strengthened constitutional awareness and encouraged active participation across the campus.
