The Department of Education, Patna Women’s College Autonomous, celebrated Carmel Feast with devotion on 15th July 2026, honouring Mother Mary, the patroness of the Carmelite Order.
The celebration began with a prayer service led by Sister Monika and group followed by prayer song “Pyasa Hiran”, creating a serene and peaceful environment. The song “O Maa”, was sung as a tribute to the Lady of Mount Carmel. A self-made short film “From the Mountains to the Streets”, depicting the history of Mount Carmel was screened, after which a quiz competition was organized. The quiz masters were Akansha Singh and Tanya Kumari, with the enthusiastic participation of seven groups, with Group 7 emerging as the winner.
Addressing the audience, Dr. Sister M. Saroj A. C., Head of the Department , appreciated the sincere efforts of the students and emphasized that the Carmel Feast is a celebration of humanity, where humanity is the highest pinnacle of spirituality. She remarked that the journey is “from the highest contemplation to the streets of humanity,” and highlighted that teachers have the unique opportunity to nurture humanity in their students through education and service. The celebration concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Prefect Tanya Patel, followed by the College Anthem.
