The Department of Microbiology – Fresher’s Day 2026

The Department of Microbiology, Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), celebrated its Fresher’s Day for the newly admitted students of Semester I on 23rd July 2026.The invited guests of the cultural committee were Ms. Enakshi Dey Biswas, Co-ordinator, Performing Arts, and Dr. Brahma Nand, Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi, Patna Women’s College. Dr. Jaya Philip, Head, Department of Microbiology, welcomed the esteemed guests by presenting them with plant sapling as a token of gratitude. She then addressed the gathering with a heartfelt speech, warmly welcoming the newly admitted students. The program was set in motion with a solemn invocation of divine grace through a prayer dance on Ashtalaxmi and Shiv tandava.A poem recited by Miss Shobhna Pranjal, titled “Dahej me churaye hue pachees varsh” captivated the audience with its emotional depth and critique of dowry. This was followed by an energetic western dance and soulful musical performances. A stand-up act by Miss Jyoti added humor, while a vibrant Bihu folk dance showcased cultural richness. The segment concluded with a graceful solo performance by Miss Vedika Jain. Ms. Enakshi Dey Biswas was then invited to share her thoughts and experiences. The program was conducted under the supervision of the teachers, Dr. Jaya Philip, Dr. Niti Yashwardhini, Dr Swetnisha and Dr. Preeti Swarupa.Miss Kaushiki Chattopadhyay was declared Miss Fresher’s 2026, Department of Microbiology.The program concluded on a warm and memorable note, leaving the newcomers with a sense of belonging and excitement as they begin their journey at Patna Women’s College.
