The Department of Political Science – Fresher’s Day 2026

The Department of Political Science, Patna Women’s College, organized its Fresher’s Day celebration, “Aagaaz”, with the thought-provoking theme “Naari ka Vidhaan, Humara Samvidhaan”. The event was a tribute to the invaluable contributions of women in shaping the Indian Constitution and served as a befitting welcome to the new members of the Political Science family.

The programme was graced by the esteemed judges, Dr. Sister Celine Crasta AC, Head, Department of History and Cultural Coordinator, Patna Women’s College, and Ms. Komal Kumari, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology, whose presence added immense value to the occasion.

The event commenced on an inspiring note with a soulful poem recitation by Prachi Kumari and Riya Kumari, beautifully capturing the spirit of womanhood, feminism and new beginnings. This was followed by a melodious medley of songs presented by the choir group, which enthralled the audience and set an uplifting tone for the celebrations.

One of the most captivating performances of the day was the thematic dance drama presented by the students. Through their graceful and powerful performance, they paid homage to all the fifteen women members of the Constituent Assembly of India, highlighting their remarkable contributions to the making of the nation’s supreme legal document. The performance seamlessly blended art with history, leaving the audience both informed and inspired.

The celebrations culminated in a grand finale that reflected the vibrancy, talent, and enthusiasm of the students of the department. Following the performances, Dr. Sister Celine Crasta AC shared her insightful reflections on the significance of women’s contributions to nation-building and encouraged the students to keep participating in the upcoming events She also praised the event’s elements and congratulated everyone for the success of the event. Ms. Komal Kumari also addressed the gathering, appreciating the thematic richness of the event and motivating the students to pursue excellence with confidence and compassion.

The much-awaited announcement of Miss Fresher’s – Political Science Department marked another memorable moment of the celebration. Niru Kumari was crowned Miss Fresher’s, winning hearts with her poise, confidence, and exemplary spirit.

The event was gracefully moderated by Shivangee Parashar and Adya Prasad, whose eloquence and enthusiasm ensured the seamless flow of the programme. The entire event was conducted under the able guidance and supervision of Dr. Vinita Priyadarshi, Head, Department of Political Science, Patna Women’s College, whose constant support and encouragement made Aagaaz a resounding success.

“Aagaaz” was not merely a Fresher’s celebration but a meaningful confluence of constitutional ideals, women’s empowerment, and artistic expression—truly embodying the spirit of “Naari ka Vidhaan, Humara Samvidhaan.”
