The Department of Sociology organised a Fresher’s Welcome cum Talent Hunt programme on 22nd July 2026. The programme was organised to celebrate the new academic beginning at Patna Women’s College. For the newcomers, this journey is set to shape their future; thus, they named their fresher’s welcome “Seeds of Tomorrow.”
Students performed on diverse themes, both individually and in groups. Agamya Singh performed a classical welcome dance, Welcome Song, Shreeja Priyadarshini recited a poem she wrote herself, group song and thematic Group dance. The judges declared Tanya Kumari the best overall performer and named her Miss Fresher – Sociology, PWC.
The welcome address was given by Dr. Ragini Ranjan, HOD, Department of Sociology. The event was judged by Kamaljeet Kaur, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, and Rajeev Ranjan, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology. During the event all faculties of the Department of Sociology namely Dr. Ragini Ranjan, Sister Jincy A. C., Dr. Tabassum, Dr. Anita Kumari, Dr. Anil Kumar, and Komal Kumari were present.
