Unsung Female Freedom Fighters: 1857-1947

On 13th August 2025, the Department of English in collaboration with Dakhal Theatre Society organised an Independence Day Pageant, titled “Unsung Female Freedom Fighters: 1857-1947” celebrating female freedom fighters who have been forgotten in the pages of history. The coordinator of the event was Ms. Anisha Singh, coordinator of Dakhal Theatre Society. The honorable judges of the event were Dr. Sr. Celina Crasta A.C. , Head, Department of History and Dr. Prabhat Jha, former Assistant Professor, Department of English, Patna Women’s College. The program was attended by students of the Department of English. The event began with a warm welcome extended to the judges with a humble token of respect. Thereafter, a ceremonial watering of the plant was conducted by the judges and Dr. Sahar Rahman, Head, Department of English. The event convened with an introductory act by Uzma and Ms. Adiba Nikhat, students of BA semester I, acting as a teacher and a student, respectively, delving into the pages of history to find such female personalities. Thereafter, the pageant ensued. Women freedom fighters from all walks of life from all over India were presented. Next, the judges shared their invaluable views and wisdom. The results were declared next. The  program was brought to seamless completion by the delivery of the vote of thanks by Ms Kanishtha, student of MA semester I. The anchors of the day, Ms Shubhangi, student of MA Semester I, and Ms Avantika, student of BA semester I, Department of English, elegantly guided the audience throughout the Pageant.
